Book Pitch
The book that our group is going to read is The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown. This book follows sisters who go back home to help their mother, and they discover some hidden talents. This book is three hundred and thirty-six pages long, and has an age group of eighteen years and up. When selecting this book, we looked at a couple other choices that were different genres so we could have a variety. The book we chose is fiction, and according to Deborah, “The story is deeply engaging and right from the beginning I felt as if I was connected with the characters.” This will guarantee that we will read the whole thing.
We chose this book for the fiction genre and the Shakespearian connections. This will show a different perspective of some Shakespearian views because the family was raised on Shakespeare, and it will be a fun read because of that. It will also be a challenging read.
The fact that the book is for a reading level of 18 and up makes it a different kind of writing that we will read. It will be structurally different and have more challenging words, making our vocabulary vaster and challenge us reading wise because of the two. You might think that we have been reading above our level for a whole year, but this book most likely has words we have never seen before and writing structures that will surprise us. We hope that you will let us read this book. Meeting One - Weird Sisters
